Seminars

Faith in Families

Explore what it looks like to follow Jesus in the midst of everyday family life, with all its joy, mess, and complexity. Drawing on honest, practical experience, these sessions reflect on how faith shapes the way we parent, relate to one another, and navigate difficult seasons, for anyone wanting to integrate their faith more deeply into home and family life.

These seminars are focused on parents and primary carers but grandparents, Sunday volunteers and fans of families are so welcome to join us.

Raising Confident Kids: Their identity & their hearts

Ed Drew

Monday 27 at 10am – 10:50am

We all want our children to be confident of who they are and able to make good decisions for themselves, but they are hearing conflicting messages. They are told that they can define themselves by their achievements, popularity or how they feel, and that sexuality, morality and gender are just a question of personal choice. Let's take a collective breath and remember that parents and carers are God’s Plan A for showing their children the Bible’s better answers on these topics, which are neither surprising nor confusing to our creator God.

Parenting success: All together for Eternity

Ed Drew

Tuesday 28 at 10am – 10:50am

How is faith best nurtured at home and in church? We’ll look at how faith in Christ transforms our parenting and how that, in turn, can shape our children. The family home is where it is at with the strong support from the local church. Sunday School matters, but it’s in the daily grind of home life that real discipleship happens. It’s where children see faith in action and learn to follow Jesus in life’s highs and lows.

The difficult conversations: Sadness, sex, friendships & more

Ed Drew

Wednesday 20 at 10am – 10:50am

Building on the previous two seminars we will consider how parents and the church can work together to tackle the hardest topics. Too often, Christian parents feel nervous and intimidated talking to their children on the subjects of bodies, friendships, gender, sexuality and their sense of self. Instead we can see these topics as the opportunity to build faith.  You will leave with fresh confidence to talk to children about what matters most.

Faith in Work

Explore what it looks like to live and lead faithfully in everyday working life. It brings together honest, practical voices from a range of professional contexts to reflect on how Christian faith shapes the way we work, make decisions, care for others, and navigate the real pressures and challenges of the workplace. Whether you are in leadership or not, these sessions are for anyone who wants to integrate their faith more deeply with their working life.

Fuelling the 9–5 with God

Fiona Harvey

Monday 27 at 10am – 10:50am

For those working full or part-time, our jobs take up the majority of our waking hours. Fi Harvey shares insights from experience having worked in a variety of different roles, on the challenges of daily work life and practical strategies to stay cantered on God, whether your role is in a church setting or the secular workplace.

Leading with Faith in the Real World

Anne Hutchinson

Tuesday 28 at 10am – 10:50am

An honest, practical session on what it really looks like to lead with faith in a demanding workplace, drawing on real experiences of navigating crisis, change, and pressure. It explores how faith shapes decision-making, people management, and resilience, grounded in God's grace rather than perfection. Open to all, it asks not whether we lead, but how and who we rely on as we do.

Called to culture: Shaping your workplace

Matt Parting

Wednesday 29 at 10am – 10:50am

This seminar takes a practical look at how the environments we create at work shape the people within them. Whether you manage a team or simply show up and contribute, you have more influence over workplace culture than you might think. It explores what it looks like to build cultures where people feel safe, valued, and able to thrive, and how Christian faith might shape and motivate the way we do that.

Faith through Scripture

Engaging deeply with the Bible and how it shapes our lives

The Book of Romans shows that Jesus is the answer for everybody, everywhere.

Romans is Paul's manual on sharing Jesus with everybody, everywhere. He explains why everybody needs Jesus and he deals with all those common questions people have:

What about good people who aren't Christians? What about those who have never heard about Jesus?  What about all the Jewish people who don't trust Jesus? Why do we keep sinning if we are saved from sin? How can it be fair for God to save bad people and reject good, sincere people? Why not keep on sinning if Jesus just forgives it all?

Paul ends by explaining how the Church is God's answer to all the world's problems.  It sounds impossible for such different people from different cultures to be united as one family - but Jesus makes this possible.

The prayer stations will be available, as they will all week. The prayer team will be on hand to offer prayer support for anyone who would like to take the opportunity for this.
